Bannerbomb is an exploit capable of launching homebrew from any version of the System Menu. It was created by Comex to replace the Twilight Hack, which does not work on System Menu 4.0.
The original Bannerbomb exploit does not work with System Menu 4.2, it only works with System Menu 4.1 or older. However Bannerbomb v2 has been released by Comex, and works on 4.2
The exploit works by using a malformed banner to crash the Wii and run code to load the boot.dol placed in the root of the SD card. It can be used to install the Homebrew Channel, DVDx and the BootMii public beta via the HackMii Installer.

Just use the GUI and its all pretty self explanatory.

So yeah, redownload those isos and get rebacking up, these programs are beyond awesome. This is all for use with the usb loader 1.1 and 1.0 with your usb wbfs hard drive.
The scene is moving pretty fast on this, I havn’t even had a chance to test out 1.0 yet, but fingers crossed my external harddrive is compatible with these USB loaders…anyway….

I Don’t think this has the cios updates you need built in, so you may need to get those and update those too
Install the CIOS’s as normal (rename the files to boot.dol though) and you should be good to go.
Hopefully the scene will have everything working with the USB Iso backup loader within a few days.
Right now you need to format your harddrive to WFBS (Done from within the loader) and you can’t use downloaded isos…you need to rip the game while its in the drive, so its not the perfect solution yet but its getting there.
Right, – the new Pikmin for wii is being a bit picky and asking you to update before you can play, i discovered this method of fixing it myself, by accident but it works so to avoid forcing your wii to update with pikmin, do this… (I am launching pikmin with backup launcher gamma)
Go to the homebrew channel, and launch backup launcher as usual.
Now go into the reboot options, and tell it to reboot region free.
Go back and reboot with hooks (b button)
Now when your wii restarts go to the usual game channel and launch the game from there.
I personally have a PAL wii and only launched region free by accident the 1st time and discovered it didnt ask me to update.
Anyway as usual dont update your wii, i burnt off the disk 1:1 no patching and scrubbing needed to pikmin. I don’t know about the NTSC version but i would assume the same -reboot with hooks as region free, and blam it bypasses the firmware version check.
if you get a message asking you to update, just turn the wii off manually and reboot, DO NOT UPGRADE
I know we said we were going to skip v0.2 of the backup launcher, and i’m glad we did. The Backup launcher v3.0 was almost perfect but Backup Launcher v0.3gamma is as good to perfect as you can get. I’ve finally tested it on a few disks and games and feel I can recommend it to you guys as the best way to play wii backup disks

Don’t install the october 23rd Update for your wii. Yes we are a bit behind on this update, if you can, make sure you avoid installing this update if you want your homebrew to continue to run seamlessly.
Currently the only thing effected if you dont update is that you can’t get into the wii shop. If you install the update, anything installed already will remain, but there have been reports of wad manager not working and dvd playback being effected.
There are patches and solutions out there that I will run through and check in the coming days and write an easy to follow guide, but at this stage its really just best to avoid updating if you don’t have to.
on a side note – http://www.mediafire.com/?um2gwbolrol – here is an updated version of the wad manager (just replace the files on your SD card) It allows for SDHC support and a few other fixes.
There is also an update out for the homebrew channel, just run the homebrew channel and if you have wifi it will ask you to update.

Yes we know there is 0.2 of the wii backup launcher channel, and no im not going to upload it (unless i get requests) The reason for this is that wiigator or whoever is releasing it this time has announced that version 0.3 is coming out pretty soon too. So lets use this extra time to get some extra games downloaded and we can all take a look at a hopefully more stable version of this great channel.
World of Goo. Not very often, a game grabs me before I’ve even had a chance to play. Visually this game is so polished its crazy, i’ve played full disk retail games for the Wii that havn’t had half as much love and care put into them as this little wiiware title.
