Wii Hacked

I’m going to show you how to get this…

Having this glorious little wii homebrew channel leads to such wonders as.

Homebrew software

Wii Backups (full games, VC games, wiiware games)

DVD Playback

MP3, AVI, DIVX, Youtube etc Playback

Emulators for most consoles pre wii.

The respect and admiration of your peers.(Maybe)

The whole process shouldn’t take longer than half an hour as long as you’ve downloaded all the files needed. We are using softmod to hack our wii, which means no opening the case no fiddling about, the only thing you need to put inside the wii is an SD card and a game disk

To start off you need a wii…obviously, then you need to get your hands on these

Zelda Twilight Princess (wii version not GC)

1GB SD card would be ideal, you could probably get away with 512mb, a 2GB SD card is perfect.

The Wii Hacked Hack Pack found here which has all the files you need

Now to install it all

Format your SD card to FAT16 if it is not already (in Windows it’s just called “FAT”). FAT32 should also work in the latest release.

Run “Wii Brew SD.exe” installer program. Found on here Or in the wiihacked hack pack found here

Follow the instructions and install to your SD card. Make sure you select the right region for your wii.

UNSELECT Install DVDx as we are going to use our own later.

Just incase you don’t know, as there have been some issues – to format your SD card go to “my computer” right click on the drive and select “format”

Right now your SD card is loaded with the necessary files…copy the save file from the SD card to your wii. Turn on your wii and…

Wii options -> data management -> wii-> (back up any Zelda games you have then delete them from the wii) then copy from SD -> Twilight Princess Save file

There are 3 Versions for NTSC wiis Match the numbers to the numbers on the inside ring on your Twilight Princess Disk

Load up Zelda twilight princess and run the obviously titled save game.

Go talk to the man infront of you and then crap yourself when you get a big dos screen.
Follow the instructions that follow to install it.

At the end it should reboot and you should have the great new homebrew channel.

Right in the next steps we will turn your wii into a media hotspot as we unlock

DVD Playback on the Wii

MP3/DIVX/AVI/MPEG/MEDIA Stuff etc

Right this is very easy,

put the folder “dvdx install” in the x:\APPS on the SD card (this is found in the wiibackuplauncher rar file)

Place the MPLAYER folder in the x:\APPS folder

Stick your SD card in

Launch the homebrew brower, run DVDx install

Select Advanced Mode

Scroll to IOS249

Install

Now when you want to run a dvd just launch mplayer from the homebrew channel and pick load dvd. Easy as pie
