This is not supported by the GeckOS Team and the original coder [nuke] has gotten pretty angry at this being added to his App. He has made claims to stop releasing updates but that may change since WiiGator has totally removed any mention of GeckOS and Nuke.

as usual the basis for this is having the homebrew channel installed via the twlighlight princess hack (click here if you need to install this first)

Right, here we go!

How to install the backup launcher channel in 15minutes

Set up the SD card

Download the wiihacked hack pack here, Extract the files etc

Take the Wadmanager folder from the APPS.rar folder and put in in x:\APP

Stick the .wad from the cios folder into your SD card x:\WAD

Stick the DVDx Install in the x:\APPS folder – even if you have dvdx installed already – if it wasnt installed in advanced mode with IOS249 you will need to do this again (if that doesnt make sense, you probably didnt install it with IOS249 and will need to reinstall dvdx)

Put the HB-backuplauncher.dol.wad into x:\WAD (In the wiihacked hack pack its found in new backup launcher\Channel Version)

Install Everything

Launch Homebrew Channel, Launch WAD Manager

press a to accept press a to select sd card

Select CIOS Rev5 – press + to install and A to accept

When thats installed ok

Go back to the homebrew Channel – install DVDx

Select advanced mode – scroll to IOS249 – install

When thats finished installing

Go Back to Homebrew Channel – launch wad manager

Press A to accept A to select SD card, then scroll down to HB-backuplauncher.dol.wad

Press + to install and A to accept, follow the intructions, press home to exit

You now have the wii backup launcher channel installed

Now if you want to burn backup games you need to patch them first with Backup Creater with GUI also found in the pack. Just take your wii iso and run this program on it. Then burn to a dvd at as slow speed as possible.

When you put your game in the drive, launch the wii backup launcher channel and the load the game from this.
